I saw the trailer of this film at the theater a few months ago and it looked interesting but the trailer give us the idea that it is a comedy and it has is comic moments but it's definitely more a drama than a comedy.

In Le Week-End we follow a British couple in a romantic weekend in Paris the place where they spent their honeymoon. The reason of this trip was to rejuvenate their relationship that has fell in the monotony of routine after many years of marriage.

I think this film is a beautiful portrait of what love could turn into. It's very realistic and honest and shows how marriage is not an easy thing after a lot of years together. But what I loved more about it was the fact that at the end give us a hopeful feeling, not in a corny way but feeling real.

Jim Broadbent and Lindsay Duncan are absolutely amazing! Their performances are something beautiful to see. Their chemistry was perfect and their relationship feels real. It's always nice to see Jeff Goldblum too.

Le Week-End is a delightful film that shows the dark side of love with the attempt of rekindling the flame of a marriage that seems ruined by many aspects. It's not perfect and it will not please everyone but is definitely good! The fact that it does not bring a conclusive end may disappoint some but I think it was a good ending for the story. Most of all is a film about people and how love can survive while getting old with all the regrets and disappointments that life brings in between.
