The Charnel House 2016

The most shocking thing about this film is how it has such a high score on Trakt (currently 66%) - IMDB's average of 44% is more accurate, in my opinion.

The plusses were the sound and visuals, as well as a generally competent cast but the plot was just a bit of a mess. We find out that a mass murderer was using the slaughterhouse as a front but that isn't the real reason for the haunting, and it's never made clear why the kid Rupert wanted them all dead anyway - and why did footage of the cows keep appearing on the TV screens?? The first 60 minutes meandered and then suddenly things were ratcheted up for the last 30, but not in a good way - it just didn't really make sense.

It's a pity a better than average cast and production (for this kind of film) was wasted on an incoherent yet generic plot.
