The Chosen

Season 1

The first episode is a kind of setting the scene and introduces the viewer to the characters and the daily lives. There is a moving story of Mary Magdalene but at the same time quite a lot of humour, especially in some scenes with Matthew the tax collector, who feels a bit uncertain in his job (he looks rather young so maybe that's why) and the conversations between brothers Simon and Andrew. The episode was thought-provoking but also uplifting and heart-warming, which is not often the case with most TV shows these days. I am Catholic but it seems to me that the show can be enjoyed also by people who are not very religious but like historical series.
