These post-apocalyptic movies are honestly starting to get on my nerves. Always the same story: A few people still live on earth, the government in all countries is completely turned upside down and total anarchy reigns. But "Finch" takes a different approach. Anarchy reigns here, too, but you don't see much of it except for one small scene. It's more about the main protagonist's love for his dog and the worry about what would happen to the dog after Finch's death. Of course, it fits perfectly that one of the last humans on earth is an engineer and passionately builds robots and programs AIs. The robot he builds is supposed to become a kind of second ruler for the dog, and it works out pretty well, as we as viewers learn. Overall, the film drags a bit, but I never felt bored at any point. The film offers a lot of emotion, drama but also some action. Overall, a very watchable film.
