When I wanted to watch this I thought, well, okay this is gonna be a teacher-students movie. But I thought wrong. It's very much like Nolan's batman trilogy. Just like the batman trilogy didn't focus on the fight scenes and how tough batman is. Detachment doesn't focus on teacher-student relationship and how can a simple guy fixes a whole class' problems. It focuses on what's happen in Henry's (the teacher) personal life and how he copes with it. and precisely on him forgetting his trouble past. Besides, this movie shows a dark side of the educational system in America. I liked Adrien Brody here a lot. he gave a remarkable performance.
