I found parts of this movie extremely disturbing when it first came out. All these years later, I still can see why. An intriguing tone for a kids' movie, but I'm still not sure how well it works. If this movie ever gets a sequel, I'd be interested to see if the mood of the film changes. Still, a deeply entertaining piece of children's fiction.
