@kurtmoney interesting Kubrick quote because Slim Pickens was in both Kubrick's Dr. Strangelove and 1941. And while Strangelove has a more consistent tone to its comedy, 1941 still has its charms. Love Slim's wobbly reaction when he's about to swing his axe and the tree voluntarily falls itself.

Watched the extended. I think Kubrick's opinion says it best..."The movie is great but it's not funny." I'm not so sure it's great, even. When u think of bits and pieces I like it but watching 2hr26min of this was tough. Was making me drowsy. I'm glad I watched it though, this has always been a desired watch for me. As a kid I would the cover at the video store and think whoa whoa whoa this has John Belushi it's gotta be good but my mom always talked me out of it saying he's barely in it. Sorry to say but she was right to avoid it.
