Sanctuary started with such great promise - although obviously aimed at teenage viewers. In some ways, it is a little like Grimm, showing the monsters among us.
But by Season 3, it was all down hill. The underlying story had changed to a weak rehash of various other story lines, a couple of key actors / actresses had left, and the special effects budget had been cut.
By series 4, it had reached the pits. Until, a little surprisingly, the last couple of episodes seemed a little better.
So worthwhile watching a couple of episodes to check out if it is to your taste. But remember the storyline pivots...
