The narrative structure was an old tale rather then modern movie. The cinematography was a refreshing change from the norm. The way the camera slides from one area to the next is nice to see and the colours and music fill the senses and enhance the experience. The characters do the job of existing to tell the tale OK but Albert has more dialogue and is fleshed out a lot more. Gambon plays him brilliantly. What a vile character. Georgina played by Mirren is also given more then one dimension. So it's a tale of a women who gets revenge for her lovers death by targeting the sadistic character we all hope gets what he deserves.
