Movie was alright. Story didn't even have any meaning and led to nowhere. Wasn't worth the watch. Pretty shitty otherwise watchable barely, quite irritable acting. Don't recommend but it wouldn't hurt to watch
I like Kodi Smit McPhee but this film is a letdown for the talented actor. It looks quite good at times, but the story is a jumble and the whole thing is a bit pointless.
I found this movie to be pretty boring and pointless.
I must say I’m impressed that an Australian made film had that type of CGI budget though. Also why did they make Ryan Kwanten have some sort of accent when everyone was Aussie?
I honestly don’t think it’s worth watching this slow film for 2hrs
It's not a great movie but it is completely underestimated.
Story are great and subject are very important on this uncertain time.
Good actors, the hero is a normal guy and it's cool to see that.
Some issues with this movie, is too long and it will probably better to see 2067 world more.
We see it's a movie with a low budget.
I'm not sure where all the hate for this movie comes from.
No it's not American.
No it's not American celebrity leads.
What it is though is a decent time travel with a twist. An easy to watch sci-fi movie.
Whiny lead character, unrelatable and downright irritating characters, six grader grasp of time travel and borderline idiotic plot twists and resolutions of the same.
The idea, if one could call it that, was there. A corporation understand that the Earth is beyond repair. The planet is dying, air is not only unbreathable but toxic, oxygen is a commodity people work and kill for, it's a dog eat dog world and it's only getting worse. But there is a brilliant scientist working on a time machine because, you know, that's what scientists in a world on the verge of collapse do.
Here's where the stupid begins, or should I say stupidurr begins.
The scientist, who's supposed to be smart, wants to use this time machine to ask the people in the future how they fixed the Earth. Yep, that's his idea. A man capable of building a time machine can't grasp the facts that are slapping him across the face. There won't be a humanity within a few years let alone hundreds of years in the future. But the guy has faith in humanity. This is where I had to fight the urge to throw up. He has faith that humanity will figure it out?! I mean, really?! Have you met us?!
Then he realizes his boss, chunky lady with high school level acting skills, wants to use the machine to do what should have been the plan from the get go. Start the machine, create a present-future bridge and just go through it. Future Earth has healed since humanity is long dead. It's a fresh start. It's common sense. But nooo...
Sitting on his high horse called Faith In Humanity Driven Morality, the scientist locks out the machine in the future with his son's DNA, meaning that the son is the only one who can activate the machine from the other end. Oh, right, I forgot to mention that. The machine don't work unless you activate it from the other side. The scientists is killed, his wife is killed and the sun is entrusted in the care of the corporation's agent to protect him until the future machine sends a text message it's all good over there and the kid can come over. Why the corporation doesn't use the orphans DNA to unlock the locked machine right now is beyond me.
The stupid just keeps on coming. Every problem the movie presents is solvable in far more easier ways than the movie presents them. I feel that the writer/director had a flash idea (we all have those) of a guy traveling into the future to find another dead guy wink wink and decided to patch together elements of other, far better time travel stories to fill the run time.
Honestly, if you have an hour and a half to kill, don't mind the whiny lead, his motivation of saving his wife (a relationship neither actors manages to sell as either believable or worth saving, tbh) and the borderline idiotic concept of time travel, give it a go.
Honestly a very decent film. Some of the plot points are a little wishy-washy, but overall it holds up.
Actors are good, CGI and set budget look "AAA" amazing, story isn't anything too complicated or ground breaking but still quite entertaining.
Worth a watch if you appreciate time-travel movies and have a weekend afternoon free.
I fast forwarded at lot because it was boring, but it seemed like it had a plot. I just couldn't understand what the end meant.
A man goes to the future because the past is dying. He sends back some plants in the time machine. Then the dramatic conclusion music started playing as it was shown that the man was alone in the future with plants and lots of scenery.... Why being alone with plants is good is unclear.
nice twist and good ecology propaganda, if only we'd listen
Overall, decent, but could have used a bit of refinement. Lots of cookie cutter plot and one dimensional characters. Ethan is a little bit of a wuss that tends to be pathetic in most of the key scenes.
The story was good and actually was deeper than the other reviews would have you believe. The premise was good, but like so many other movies of this calibre there is a lot of wasted time leveraging a confused or indecisive character that really shouldn't be confused or indecisive. It also tries to make things more confusing to the viewer than they are. I would honestly rather lose 20 minutes of screen time than have these story devices be used to prolong the runtime.
The movie is definitely watchable, but it is frustrating to watch at times.
I do have a somewhat silly question, how did all the plants die? Since it is the entire basis for the movie, this could have used some explanation that the ibteo did not porvide. Plants are more heat tolerant than humans and have flourished in much warmer climates than we have now. They also thrive on CO2 which we love to dump into the atmosphere. So other than the asshats cutting down the rain forests, what actually killed off the plant life? I could understand rising temps killing off algae and reducing that part of the oxygen production, which is very significant, but for all plants life to die seems ridiculous. Seems like greenhouses would continue to survive and would be something that could be scaled up to produce more oxygen on a local scale. Not everywhere would be able to afford this, but plants should survive and there should be oxygen. To have most of the world without oxygen seems implausible.
An old-fashioned, inexpensively filmed fantasy about the time paradox and the survival of mankind with a dotted plot and cardboard characters. The only thing that brightened up watching this boring movie was how the hero managed to get out of that very loop. True, at a high price. But do not waste time
I wasn’t expecting much. Just wanted to mark off another movie on the list. A uselessly long two hours. The only good part was the unexplored concept of time/fate manipulation in the last 3 minutes.
how it's possible to receive the message If it's send by himself. out of that several questions remains without answer. fair movie
The second half is totally strectched and waste of time.. i give 4 stars..
The lead character was way too whiny in the emotional scenes. But apart from that I enjoyed the movie. Worth a watch for sure!
This looks like a Sy-Fy show... cheap effects and all. And yes... it’s kinda meh!
An easy going time travel movie. Nice shots, a story that keeps evolving, the moral that we don't have to take our path for granted, a happy ending of some kind. A movie well worth watching.
The most pretentious movie ever. Utter bollocks and ugliest leading actor. Not to mention, suffering from the worst hangover cough cocaine
I'm curious to see this, despite the not-so-good reviews. After viewing the trailer, this movie seems a bit "12 Monkeys" to me. Maybe I'm wrong. We shall see.
Visually very good looking movie, but the the acting and the dialogs were really amateurish. Main character cried on the floor like five times
The end of mankind and time-travel. What more do you need.
I liked this because it dared to be different from most time-travel movies of this type. Sure there are some logic holes in the story - but what time-travel movie doesn't.
How I rate:
1-3  = seriously! don't waste your time
4-6  = you may or may not enjoy this
7-8  = I expect you will like this too
9-10  = movies and TV shows I really love!
The worst movie that I've seen in 2020 for sure, maybe even ever. Seriously folks, the continuity of this film at times is perplexing, and some plot doesn't make sense with what happened previously. View at your own risk. ;-)
Didn't recognize any of the actors, I believe it is some Australian flick. Decent story line I thought, special effects could have been much better.
The visuals in the first 30 minutes or so were the best thing about this movie. I guess they blew that budget on it because there wasn't a lot of decent shots after that. Everything else was pretty meh. The story was pretty weak, a lot of the scenes lingered a little too long for my liking and the acting wasn't very convincing. That being said its decent popcorn flick but ultimately very forgettable.

Useless lead character couldn't move an inch without crying. Plot was all over the place. Exaggerated acting felt unnatural and just made me cringe most of the time.
Movie started pretty strong but went down the shitter pretty fast.
At least had decent visuals and soundtrack.
