I like most of Joseph Gordon-Levitt's work. And this does not disappoint. The entire movie takes place in the cockpit of a plane, which if memory serves, is a new unique approach to a plane hijacking movie.
Really solid single room thriller à la Buried, Den Skyldige and Locke. Levitt puts in a great performance, and the story, while linear and predictable, still impresses with its presentation and pacing. Not a bad way to spend 90 minutes, definitely worth a watch.
Good to see Joseph back in action and played his role well. I enjoyed the film, a simple plot to understand, tense at moments and a good set off and great landing. Something different for the camera perspective that’s not in much films based in a plane and it made it more real like.
7500 takes off quickly and while it has some ups and downs, it cruises along nicely with some great tension and fine suspense. The film stalls when it reaches the third act, but lands at the end and, overall, takes us on an enjoyable round trip.
JGL really carries the movie. It was always engaging and claustrophobic.
A good solid thriller with no frills, clearly to the point. And the whole thing was shot exclusively in the cockpit with the exception of a few scenes, this effect also creates a claustrophobic intimate play. Joseph Gordon-Levitt, as always, very good.
So if you want to watch a short, crisp thriller, here it is.
Pointless movie. What actually happen?
Efficiently done and more realistic than much of the garbage Hollywood turns out with films of this type.
Tight and gripping. Dips 3/4th in. Very human and a great attempt at creating something very real. The atmosphere is very dense in the sense that there's only the sound of the engines on the background and the set is only lit by the interior lights and any kind of moonlight/city lights. It's bleak and serene and I found the attemps to keep it as simple as possible commendable. If it wasn't for Joseph Gordon-Levitt's excellent perfomance, it would not come in as strongly as it does. In my opinion, it's one of those little gems of cinema that try something else, succeed, but will never have a big audience. For me, it could have done with less chaotic camera movements, less cuts, longer takes to really drive home the situation.
Amazing Movie. You are very close to the characters. And the acting from Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Omid Memar is superb. The movie is more than serious and really tries to portray happenings as close to reality as they can get. The acting is great and while some things are heightened for effect, you can see things going down the way they did.
I absolutely loved that the film took place in the cockpit of the plane, it made for a very interesting premise. I wouldn't say the film fell flat per se, but the last 30 or so minutes were an absolute drag, and the ending was very obvious. That being said, the acting definitely saved the movie. If you're a fan of bottle movies and/or hijacking movies, give 7500 a try.
Enjoyable movie. Lost its way towards the end. Overall worth a watch.
Note: you need subtitles for the German speaking parts.
7500 is a gripping thriller that keeps you on the edge of your seat from start to finish. The movie's great storyline is full of twists and turns that will keep you guessing until the very end. The film's tense atmosphere and claustrophobic setting add to the overall suspense and make for a thrilling viewing experience. Overall, 7500 is great for fans of suspenseful thrillers and anyone looking for a movie with an engaging plot and surprising twists.
A very raw movie. Shot in real time without distracting music. The atmosphere is very claustrophobic.
meh.
simply put, meh.
i get it they were trying to be realistic, with all the procedures and everything, but in the end it wasn't super enjoyable. the first half of the movie drags itself for quite a while, you feel like nothing happened during 30 minutes, and then a whole lot of screaming and a rushed ending. there was very little character development and you end up feeling bad for basically the whole 5 characters that spoke in the movie. 6/10 watch it but be aware that it's mostly Gordon Levitt acting (very well) , while everyone else says 6 lines.
I think this is the first movie that made me believe presenting a story realistically isn't always a good thing. The first half was good, but getting through the second was a CHORE. Joseph Gordon-Levitt's performance was flawless through and through, still it wasn't enough to make this an entertaining ride. Also, really not a fan of the lack of soundtrack.
I don't know how this movie got its way to light, I fast forwarded it just to get to the known end.
Very slow motion script with on very low budget production with no acting brilliance. Sorry that I wasted my bandwidth and fast forwarding time.
7500, without a doubt, offers an action-packed story which will leave you tensed without disappointment. Throughout the film, Joseph Gordon-Levitt gives a stunning performance and illustrates the character of airline pilot Tobias Ellis exceptionally well. Furthermore, the performance of Omid Memar who performed as Vedat executed an influential role of a troubled boy who demonstrated strong emotions and unquestionably kept the mind wondering throughout the film.
Moreover, the framework of the film was fantastically set out and even still with it set just in an aircraft, it supplied a chilling atmosphere which left you suspecting what happens next. Additionally, the story itself is well formulated, though in some scenes it drags along too much, yet, more action could have been implemented where possible.
Overall, the film was great and had well-built up scenes throughout. Yet, the ending was frustrating and could have provided a more in-depth understanding of what happened afterwards. Nevertheless, I would still recommend this film to anyone because it is positively a surpassing film.

I took a flyer on this (no pun intended) only because Joseph Gordon-Levitt was in it - he virtually guarantees a good movie. I knew nothing about the movie at all. As per usual Gordon-Levitt delivered a superb movie that was action-packed from beginning to end, which is particularly hard when the entire movie takes place inside the cockpit of the plane! Solid 10/10
