A Christmas Wedding Date is a cheesy low-budget holiday film…but in all the right ways. After losing her job, Rebecca returns to her hometown for her best friend’s Christmas Eve wedding and soon finds herself reliving the day over and over again. Marla Sokoloff, Catherine Hicks, and George Wendt lead the cast, and do a good job at playing the broad, cartoonish type characters that this type of film calls for; especial Sokoloff, who’s charismatic and charming. Also, a lot the Groundhog Day-ish humor works; with Rebecca taking advantage of reliving the same day and having fun with it. At times it’s a mess, but overall A Christmas Wedding Date is delightfully entertaining.
