Horribly infidelous to the original novel :( Lots of plotline changed, and characters were not cast according to their descriptions in the book. If you want a feel-good modernized movie, watch this. If you want a faithful and well-acted adaptation of the childhood classic, watch the 1986 version of A Little Princess instead.
