A Matter of Life and Death 1946

It's mind blowing that such a high concept film was made in the 40s.

Another title of the film is Stairway to Heaven.

Delicious film with a great team, it is surprising what they tell and how they tell it for the year it is.

What a strange, quirky, little gem of a movie. An RAF pilot falls out of an airplane without a parachute, but due to a cosmic clerical error (strong Good Place vibes) ends up landing without injury. As he’s falling to his death he and the radio operator fall in love, and the whole movie ends with a trial scene in the Good Place in which love conquers all. It’s truly bonkers but in the best way–really enjoyed this one. Gorgeous use of Technicolor too.

Great movie about life and death. Peter is in war and has to abandon his plane to his death.... he knows it’s the end for him and speaks to June a radio operator in his last moments. Funny thing is there is a mixup in heaven and Peter survives and falls in love with June. What ensues is a trial in heaven to determine if Peter can keep his life. Wonderful movie with beautiful cinematography. A great watch.
