I loved it! Deserves a much better rating than what people have so far given.

That was definitely my type of movie. I have been putting off watching this so many times because I feared it would be too much. Amazingly, other than one or two scenes, this was just really funny.

Charlize Theron and Seth MacFarlane have amazing chemistry. The way they played off each other was just perfect. I really didn't expect the two of them to be so complementary.

Back to the future IV? No, just the Doc and DeLorean - the best cameo ;>

What a hilarious idea for a movie. If you love raunchy, racist hilarious jokes, skits, then this is the film for you. A plot about making fun of the West back in the later 1800's while basically elevating every stereotype all while being a bit of a romance. Its like being back in middle school reading about how life was back then but making it comical with adult jokes.

Movie is hilarious

I dont know why ppl critics in IMDB are soo cruel, this novie is really worth to watch :) enjoyeed this soo much, like it. Watched it alone, and still laughed, if i only would watch with friends, would be even much better :D

Spent the whole movie going "really no Django Unchained reference?" then boom the end, completely earned that superb!

I expected comedy and got delivered! :D

I haven't seen Ted yet but going to do so after watching this film. Yes it was a bit silly but it had some good funny moments. Not going to be a top 100 comedy film but worth a watch.

loading replies

Overall it was a reasonable movie. It had some good parts, but also some parts that took way too long. The film lasted like 2 whole hours. Seth should've made it a little shorter, it would've improved the movie. Still a 7/10.

A rather bland comedy that relies far too heavily on McFarlanes tried and tested back catalogue of jokes.

In short there was nothing new in this movie that hasn't been done a thousand times before and in most cases far better. I thought Ted was a better film and that too is a bit of a one trick pony in both it's content and delivery.

That said, there are a couple of gags that made me chuckle and the acting performances of the supporting cast were quite decent... But McFarlane himself is not a great actor and the film suffered as a result. He should stick to his writing and voice acting where he really shines.

6/10 from me... Not a terrible movie, but not one that I'd bother to watch a second time or recommend to friends.

This movie was terrible. I expected way more from Seth MacFarlane after Ted. Being a big fan of American Dad and Family Guy, his sense of humor should be right up my alley, but it wasn't. And Seth is a terrible (over-)actor.

There were 3 or 4 kind of funny moments, none of them in which Seth had a part in it. The other cast is great, though: Charlize Theron, Neil Patrick Harris and Giovanni Ribisi really put on a great performance.

Omg, I hadn't expected this to be any good, but it's hilarious. It's so over-the-top and at times inappropriate, somehow it makes the curve to being almost refined again. I mean... the shooting "ducks" stand at the fair... ouch!
I'm loving it.

A fun one that I come back to watch yearly, feels like a pretty good watch after the back to the future trilogy

Vulgar, crude, self-referential, and irreverent, A Million Ways to Die in the West is a typical Seth MacFarlane comedy. When a sheepherder who hates the West saves a young lady during a bar fight they strike up a friendship that helps him gain some self-confidence. Starring Seth MacFarlane, Charlize Theron, Amanda Seyfried, Neil Patrick Harris, and Liam Neeson, the film features an all-star cast. But the performances are weak, due in part to the writing. And while a lot of the comedy is funny, the jokes are often taken too far or spoiled by some random bit of nonsense. Unfortunately, A Million Ways to Die in the West is a poorly made film that’s more concerned with setting up gags than telling a fun story.

good actors, bad leading actor who appears to be the director as well. anyway, i needed a couple of puff's to finish the movie without cringing

loading replies

Well, if your keen on crass, sacrilegious, violent and just downright foul, it’s probably a 7, but that’s not my idea of good. I think Seth MacFarlane got stuck in his pre-teen years. The cast is stellar and the cameos are star studded so he must have called everybody he knew to take a chance on this. [Western Parody]

loading replies

As a movie of course it's not the best. But it's a must for any Seth mcfarland fan. There were some internal jokes and references that really warmed up up seeing!
Of course NPH is great, Charlize Theron is charming and so many guest cameos that make it such a fun watch!

loading replies

Some jokes are funny but most have them fell flat and/or are stupidly offensive. There are some good ideas here and there but not enough to make it a good movie.

The cameos are great! The movie, not so much.

Man, the main character (who also happens to be the director) is the most boring mf in the history of comedy movies. He's incredibly bad

loading replies

NOT my type of 'humor'

loading replies

With a bad actor like Seth McFarlane in the main role it is asking for a bad movie. Many of the jokes are unoriginal and boring too. The cameo's were the best of the movie and of course Barney making a 1 line appearance.

A classic Macfarlane. Could'nt stop laughing

loading replies

The biggest problem with this movie; Seth Mcfarlane. The guy can't act! He's fine as long as you don't see his face (Family Guy, Ted) but when you see him on screen every lame joke comes across so forced it just loses all credibility.
A complete waste of 2 hours of my time.

That went south real fast indeed. It's not that terrible but there were some really pathetic jokes in there. I actually expected a huge death count from this but it's the generic and predictable romance that actually fills the run time.

Not the best movie I've ever watched, but it made laugh a couple of times and it's an overall feel-good movie. Just something fun to watch with a couple of friends :)

I saw the trailer for this film a while ago and it looked just awful. Decided to give it a go since I am a fan of Seth's other works, I really wish I had not. This film tries its best to be like Blazing Saddles but is not 1% as funny. There there was one reference which I found quite unexpected and funny but it just couldnt make up for the rest of the film. There are a few solid jokes but overall it's not worth your time.

Yes it was corny, yes it was stupid, yes I laughed a few times but mostly it was a habitual line stepper!

Good example of the genre, not a massive fan of comedies, but enjoyed it all the same. Some parts destroyed my suspension of disbelief.
