I have never seen a more (unintentionally?) homoerotic horror movie. Reminded me a lot of having to deal with my gay identity in my teens. Horribly homophobic though? But still a hilariously bad movie, I would recommend this for a marathon-party with your friends.

I wish there was more gay horror.

Known to be the first gay scream queen horror movie. Very Homoerotic.

This movie is simply an Incoherent mess

So what even happened in this movie?
I thought Freddy could only affect people in dreams, however the ending of the first movie kinda fucked the theory. How was he able to go nuts during the pool party?

Seemed liked they used most of the budget for the great opening sequence. As for the rest of the movie it has its moments but the story is a right mess imo

The cable rating some how gives this movie *** but the superior part 4 only **. To me this movie is a horrible mess.
Freddy rips through a teenagers body to come into the real world. However that same teen is some how alive after each time that happens.
Yes, I even strongly recommend Freddy’s Dead over this one.

The first one is still a great one, but this one is just terrible.

Somehow more homoerotic than Top Gun. Mark Patton's Jesse certainly has more screen charisma than Nancy from the first. A more interesting character with a bit more depth and complications. The movie's more focused on the "story" and "characters" but sacrifices some horror and Freddy presence which is sad—that is until the third act which is when the fun starts. We get some great kills once again, Robert Englund truly shines for his ten minutes but they did Freddy dirty in the third act he barely felt like a threat. Weird ending, wondering if there's a continuation to that.

I honestly found this better than the first one. Better acting. Better score. It even had a few characters I was rooting for. There was more chemistry between Jesse and Grady then there was between Jesse and Lisa.

"You've got the body... I've got the brain."

Not near as good as the first one but when has that ever been the case? They get creative with Freddy’s return and I like that they didn’t try to copy the first one.

The worst of the sequels. It does try something different but it is ridiculous. Freddy rips through a teens body multiple times to get into the real world. With the teen perfectly fine after each time it happens.
Yet this has *** on my cable rating and part 4 has **. Which is a much better sequel. The gay movie community loves the movie. They just overlook that it isn’t very good.

Jesse is a gay icon

Well… that was dreadful really. So, can Freddy live on in the real world now? .. and rip through some kids chest, as well as be burnt alive but the kid is still perfectly fine with just a couple bandages on either arm. I felt this was too rushed on the back of the originals success, awful plot and I was left with a lot of unanswered questions. I had intentions of watching the entire franchise but this has gave me a second thought!

I've watched this before but I didn't remember till the pool scene. It's not as good as the first one but good enough to keep me entertained. I honestly don't know what's wrong with this film, it just doesn't have the charm that the original one has. Great effects and cool deaths.

A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy’s Revenge is an awful piece of garbage that’s messy and convoluted. Clearly the filmmakers have no idea what they’re doing and don’t understand the material in the least. Instead of killing in dreams, Freddy’s brought into the real world by possessing a high school kid and then proceeds to kill people at random. The concept is intriguing, but it’s not used effectively. Additionally, it recons the first film so that it wasn’t a nightmare (which betrays Wes Craven’s vision). Despite having a few interesting ideas, A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy’s Revenge is a horrendous and insipid film that lacks vision.

The story doesn't make a whole lot of sense but it still is somewhat entertaining. Some good visual effects and gore. Freddy is still doing what he does best.
