This had to be one of the lamest movies I've watched in a while.
Some latest high-tech AI dog that gets destroyed by a bit of fire but designed for the battlefield - oh my goodness
and the kid and girlfriend somehow are tech geniuses who can repair the thing with a soldering iron.
Don't bother with this one
I hate this kind of movie. You see it, but keep you thinking all movie about some topics.
Some future robot being develop by the army, cutting-edge technology, never seen before, and then some guy (not even a bike can ride), fix it with some screwdriver and an angle grinder?? Really, damn.
Very enjoyable. Nice, easy watch.
This is one of the most bullsh*t movies that I've seen in a loooooong while. Stupid plot. Too predictable to even begin te describe it.
Hey producers, the 80's just called, they want their outdated concepts back.
It's like mixing McGuyver, D.A.R.Y.L and Lassie with a touch of Romeo & Juliet of course. Oh and lets add some "the latino's clean the house"-syndrome for good measure.
I'm perhaps most positively surprised they didnt at some LHGBTIQXYZ123 bullcrap in there as well somewhere.
Well I loved it! Give it a chance! Don’t read to many of the bad comments, create your own opinion. It even made me cry, I love animals.
Could be better, I just love the dog's scenes. Didn't like any characters.
Now, this...was just plain bad.
My bet is that this was a rejected TV pilot, and since they had already spent the money on making the damn thing, they released it as a feature-length movie instead to try and get some pennies back.
Extremely boring and plain. Consider yourself warned!!!
There definitely should've been a sequel!! Don't over think it. It's meant for entertainment.
dumb guy thinks he can steal a puppy from the government
good

Down boy! This is not the kind of movie you want jumping up at you when you’re looking for something to watch. Its a malfunctioning mess of a movie and isn’t worth your time.
Thake Short Circuit and/or Chappie and remove the charismatic rebot for a dog and put it into a movie for teen and you get A-X-L...
A TRANSFORMER-esk fable: Powerful military tech meets handsome boy and becomes adorable companion. Add a sexy girl and the formula is all there. But it didn't quite work. Maybe good as mindless pre-teen fare but not sophisticated enough Sci-Fi for an adult palette. If only it had lived up to its sleek poster. Too bad, Alex Neustaedter, Becky G and Thomas Jane have some credible acting chops. Needs a reimagining if it warrants the sequel for which it sets itself up (more credible human lives, more credible boundaries of threat). I give this film a 5 (meh) out of 10. [SciFi Action Adventure]
Meh and predictable movie, but still entertaining. Good effects despite the budget, and dog was cute for a killing machine.
Also, what's with that army sarcasm "you put civil lives in danger"? Most of the time army kills thousands of innocent people.
Serviceable enough if extremely generic, with two big caveats not nearly enough Thomas Jane and that anti-climatic non-ending. Due to those, it's passable but Miles away for being a good movies (See what I did there? AXL is based of a short film called Miles, damn i'm witty)

Great movie!! I really enjoyed it! The only thing that was a little dumb in my opinion was the fact that AXL got damaged so badly from the fire when Sam tricked him. How does a highly intelligent, cutting-edge army technology dog get damaged from fire? You would think it was fire proof and indestructible considering in battles, fire is almost a given at some point.
