This movie was the first of its kind to show what it's like for Indian American college students growing up in the United States. It brings up culture, music, language, pronunciation, use of an American name, stereotypes, expectation of parents, and finding one's identity between the traditional Eastern culture and the modern Western culture. The movie is full of references that Indian Americans can relate to. It was the first to use the now common term of A.B.C.D in the following scene:

Krishna: "What is your problem?"
Rakesh: "I got no problem, A.B.C.D."
Krishna: "What did you call me?"
Rakesh: "A.B.C.D. An American Born Confused Desi."

Despite this independent movie having a low-budget, it did have potential with its actors and actresses but they failed to bring depth and build the plot. In the end, I enjoyed some of the references they made and some of the lines they delivered.
