An excellent character study of Patrick Bateman played by Christian Bale, shows the sociopathic obsession with materialism in the 1980s. The story can be a little confusing but overall, it's a lot of fun to watch. A decent amount you probably have heard of this movie, but if you haven't, I strongly suggest checking it out.

Without Brett Easton-Ellis's corporate-clean prose to serve as the backdrop (and a scene or two that never in a million years could have made it onto the silver screen), the film adaptation of American Psycho cannot hope to be the book. Luckily, it doesn't, and it defines itself rather than simply mimicking the novel. Christian Bale has a kind of versatility that transcends acting ability, and affects his physical body as well.
