Great soundtrack... my family on my mom's side is from Arkansas...one time my uncle Thor...cant make this stuff up...got hammered and the sheriff showed up, and ended up in a tussle with my great uncle and pistol whipped him but my uncle was a badass mofo and wrestled the gun away from the cop and tried to shoot the cop but the gun was jammed because it got damaged on my uncles hard ass head and then he got tackled and mobbed haha made the paper

I liked it. There was some awesome kill scenes, but I think the premise was a little . Also full-disclosure. Never heard of it, but watched it because #VinceVaughn was in it. He needs to be in more stuff. Brawl in Cell Block 99 was an instant favorite of mine.

Thoughts?

Clark Duke tried to do it all with Arkansas--write, direct, and act--and did all right. This small story that spans across a couple of time periods sees a southern drug operation start from nothing, turn into a small something, and transition across individuals. There are hints of Coen brothers' influences and some great individual scenes, but as a whole you can see some rough edges still there.

I liked it just fine, I hope to see another series.

All the characters take very phlegmatically the rules of the drug trafficking game, I would even say lazily except for the winner.

A bit of a jumble of a movie. Populated with characters it is hard to sympathise with, and a story that drags, this doesn't really work. The soundtrack is good though, and the actors are fine I suppose.

A great movie for Tarantino or Coen fans - slow but it got the right vibes. I only wished that Malkovich had a bigger role...

Liam Hemsworth was an absolute badass in this one. Great flick.

Meh. Arkansas is a drawn out look at the cyclical nature of drug dealing and the people that deal those drugs. It tries to be funny and falls flat, and it tries to be serious and falls flat again. It's a shame as everyone here brings a solid performance, but nothing quite lines up. This felt like Duke was desperately attempting to channel some of Soderbergh's Logan Lucky but just couldn't nail the execution. A shame, because the potential was there, but it just doesn't come through in the finished product.

It's not a thriller at all. Pace is quite steady and monotone, it's not an action movie. I kept waiting for something to happen but it didn't happen.

I'd best describe it as a family drama with some relation to drugs.
It's wasn't bad but I didn't actually enjoy it very much.

Somewhat recommend if you like drama and looking for a smooth, steady sailing with some bumps.
