Wow, I am glad I finally watched this. John Singleton had already impressed me with Boyz n the Hood and Poetic Justice, and this is in the same league as those. I know Tyrese Gibson from his screaming and one liners in the Fast and Furious and Transformers films, but his acting is really good in Baby Boy.
