Backdraft 1991

I love this movie. It's cheesy, full of cliche moments but damn it's entertaining. The stunts are some of the most incredible stunts of all time. The score is epic too. Plus it has Kurt Russell.

Film 37 (Goal: 300) of 2024

I really enjoyed Backdraft. The scenes taking place inside the burning buildings are masterfully done and convey the dangers that I assume the brave firefighters are facing every day, in a way I don't think many films achieve. The script isn't perfect but there's enough here that works, added with the talented cast (Kurt Russell and Robert DeNiro standout) that the film gets by. But the real star of the show is Howard's directing during those aforementioned scenes.

It's an epic fire brigade.

We still like it, fire is another character, you feel as if it were next to you and it would burn you. The real flames increase the realism, tube that is difficult to roll without burning

It tends to get a bit sappy and cliche, but it's still a damn fine movie. It highlights the different aspects of firefighting and the heroism and comradery within that field. One of Howard's more entertaining movies.
