Better than the first i'd say! More fun, more kills, more characters and more wtf moments. Basket Case 2 tackles even better themes than the first like finding out where you belong, what it means to be human, wanting to be normal - or really the definition of normal, who are the real freaks?! Superb design for the deformed "mysteries of nature" I put it on pause a few times to get a better look, great practical effects and makeup. Liked the weird synth score it adds even more weirdness. Kevin Van Hentenryck's acting got better sinse the first, Annie Ross gives a great performance as Granny Ruth and Kathryn Meisle was also a standout. Lorenzo singing at the beginning caught me off guard it was hilarious, flash photo scene was my favorite and that sex scene was weird as hell. Perfect final scene!
Nothing like the first one, don't watch the 2 or 3, for me there is only one basket case.
Completely stupid plot as expected. Not like the first one for me but it still can be fun at times. Hasn't got the fast pace around the question 'what's in the basket?' Like the original. The monster doesn't look as good despite a bigger budget. Some of the lighting and camera work was good. The granny was played well. Some moments are just weird.

A surprisingly great follow-up to the fantastic original Basket Case. This one feels like a completely different film, taking a new direction and innovates on the story so it doesn't feel same-y. It's less scary and the violence is significantly toned down, but it's much weirder and whimsical while still retaining that manic energy from the original. It strikes just the right balance of comedy and horror to me, with some added fun unique cast that are definitely interesting. With a bigger budget, you can see the upgrades in camera quality and most importantly the effects work, and I love the creativity on the creature designs. I very much enjoyed it. It's on UK Shudder.
