Bedeviled 2017

Why didn't they just take the batteries out of their phone? Why didn't they replace their phones with something else? Why didn't they consider life without a screen constantly in front of them? And why did I watch this mediocre effort? I asked Alexa that last question and she laughed maniacally at me, before putting a curse on me for daring to watch a movie about her 'competitor.' Bah!

I don't think this would even scare the "Lifetime" audience. zZz

Poorly acted and boring as hell.

Not scary at all. The dialogue in this is (mostly) surprisingly strong for a movie of this type, which is kind of uncommon for these B movies. The characters actually talk like real human beings would. The horror element though is non-existent, and the horror plot is paper thin. Acting is decent enough, but that's not saying much. Sad to see this fail so much. It has a pretty interesting plot and the writers are competent enough at writing dialogue, something a lot of horror writers struggle with. With a much better horror element this could have been something great.

I thought it was alright, nothing too exciting, but kept me occupied for a couple of hours. One glaring error in this film though: where are all these kids' parents?! Only the first girl seemed to have parents, there was not one mention of any of the others, and you would think that with everything that's going on in their town, parents would want to keep an extra eye on their kids! Other than that, I could kind of suspend my disbelief.
