Indeed there are improvements from the second and the first, particularly the animation. It still doesn't to justice to the manga though. Besides the obvious compression and skips (too many contents to be fit in 2 hours movie), this third movie's soundtrack is quite disappointing. It doesn't inflict the horrors of Eclipse as it does in the manga. Too many repetition and gothic choir layering with piano instrumentals; it sounds more like a noise rather than thrilling background music.

Although the movie trilogy skips some interesting backstories, muddles a few others, it also skips weak humorous attempts and other plot nonsense that was introduced in the show, purely to fill time, disavowing the entire show's tone in the process. The movies condense quite a lot to fit the format's length, but the superior serious tone, the polished graphics and animation, and above all a proper ending, justify the trilogy over the 1997 show any time.

A lot of people have praised the manga, which is usually the case for any good anime; my guess is that its fine. But the movies are way better than the tv series. I understand that the slower pace and better context given by the series is good, the movies do feel rushed in their storytelling, but I didn't find it that big of a deal considering that the movies do a good enough job of retelling the original series story. Besides, one can't be expected to invest 12 hours of their time into a show like Berserk and have that revolting ending (or lack thereof).

I guess it was alright? The third movie in the series improved on the CGI which is great but it still had many scenes where it felt like three different art styles thrown together in bad taste... The "Berserk Saga" Project seems game so I'll be looking forward for more of these. If they wouldn't have greenlit these movies it would all have been rather pointless. They didn't really improve on the first adaptation so at least getting some new stuff animated will be cool. Not recommended if you have not read the manga and want to experience "Berserk". There is too much back story missing for it to make an impact so these are more fan-service (unless you're just looking for some violence).
