Beyond Christmas (aka Beyond Tomorrow) is an unconventional yet strangely charming holiday romance. When their guests fail to show for their Christmas party three old gentlemen toss their wallets into the street as impromptu invitations, and from that they befriend a teacher and an aspiring singer who soon begin to fall in love. The performances are pretty good, and director A. Edward Sutherland impressively keeps the film moving at a steady pace while also developing the budding friendships and romance. The special effects are also well-done and hold up remarkably well. It’s a tad predictable and a little melodramatic at times, but Beyond Christmas is an entertaining film with a positive message.
