Even after watching the mini-docs on the miniatures and big-atures, I find it difficult to disassociate myself from the fact that those buildings and everything are just uber-detailed figures on a soundstage. The level of care and detail poured into every little aspect of the big-atures is, for me, one of the biggest reasons Middle-earth feels so real.
