Less of a #MeToo film and more of a #RichWhiteMaleAssholeDoesntGetOffTheHook movie, which is one of my favorite genres. While I wish the ending were as creative as the first two acts, I was on board all the way with the great acting, terrific story and strong directing. This Bitch has some bite.
A bit woof around the edges, but not quite the dog of a movie I expected. Sometimes a little too weird and confusing (why didn't Jill get psychiatric help?), but there are some interesting themes here, running beneath this darker take on The Shaggy Dog.
While Bitch starts out quite gloomy it relatively quickly goes for a more light-hearthed approach to the drama at hand. It feels quite jumbled and not weird enough given that the mom becomes a dog but it still ends up being a decent family film (?) that is quite funny at times.
(Jason Ritter is a pretty good dog too.)

Bitch made me very emotional and I can't explain why. It's a provocative and upsetting film about an ignored housewife who suddenly has a mental breakdown and transforms herself into a dog. It's silly but original. It worked as a satire making critics against the patriarchism. It started out like a horror film with a very dark tone, then it switched to a dark comedy, and then drama. The dynamic changes really make it an enjoyable experience. The sound design was unusual and loud but it did a great job creating discomfort. It's not for everyone but I personally love it. Excited to see more from Marianna Palka.
