Bloodsport III 1996

The sequel to a poor sequel was never going to be good - so in many ways, this lived up to expectations

This time, there is a new tournament. The fighting styles were so far away from the original - much more for show than for effectiveness. The approach of "telling children the story" continued from Bloodsport II, but doesn't make it a children's story, or really improve the way it is told (perhaps it was just a mechanism to make the movie out to 90 minutes?)

Really though, no one watches Bloodsport movies for the storyline, rather the story is just a way of justifying the final flight scene. And the fight scene of this was really just disappointing. The major antagonist was only a little larger than other fighters, but had not technique. And yet when fighting the hero, the telegraphed, low moving power movies still made contact (the most awesome being the big guy jumping into the air and punching down - a slow, stupid move for anyone).
