Enjoyable feature about a dog who finds out that he's not really a superhero, he just plays one on TV. Bolt the dog and Mittens the cat were likable characters, more so than the main characters of the recent "Madagascar 2" or "Kung Fu Panda".
The animation was excellent and the opening chase sequence's 3D effects were visually amazing. The 3D treatment throughout the rest of the picture was hardly jaw-dropping, though.
This is a nice story, a buddy road picture really. In what seems to often be the case, the funniest parts of the movie are delivered by the secondary characters. There are a lot of laughs courtesy of "Rhino" the hamster, and a couple of different sets of pigeons.
Lil' crazy Rhino is the best

'Bolt' is all a joy to watch. On paper, the premise can look a bit ridiculous, don't get me wrong it is, but the film manages to not only make it entertaining but to also make it both amusing and heartwarming.
The opening scenes are superbly done, when the cat (dog?) gets let out the bag, so to speak, it does take a few moments to regain its footing but quickly turns into a lot of fun. It's got a pleasing adventure, heartfelt feelings and comedy to keep it fresh.
The cast are very good, too. John Travolta (Bolt) and Miley Cyrus (Penny) do very fine jobs in their respective roles, but it's actually Susie Essman who stands out most to me - she gives a super performance as Mittens. A few of the other voices do solid stuff, also.

Not one of the best animations Disney have created, but it's still a fun and high energy film
The best animation movie I've seen in a long time. Funny, moving, entertaining! Additionally it features an original plot and a good sound-track.
I would go as far as calling Bolt one of the best Animations ever made!

Animation is rough, it is Disney's third time trying CGI, and while it's improving, it still looks dated.
From Walt Disney Animation comes the hilarious family comedy Bolt. After being separated from his co-star/owner, a dog named Bolt (who’s been tricked into believing that his television series is real) embarks upon a journey to find her; but the real world proves to be full of dangers and perilous unlike anything that he’s ever had to face before. The voice casting is especially good, and the characters are incredibly fun and entertaining. Additionally, the animation is extraordinarily vivid and colorful, creating a rich, textured look for the film. And, the comedy is especially funny, particularly the satire. Bolt is an amazing film that proves that Walt Disney Animation still has the magic.
Decent enough story to enjoy. I liked Rhino a lot.
I kinda wish this movie was actually about a dog with actual powers. That opening sequence was awesome.
