Pretty bland and uninteresting, didn’t live up to the hype
Concept and visuals were the only intriguing elements and for me this movie was a letdown.
I really like the movie, because it is about life and love. Parkour scenes are lovely to see. I was afraid this movie has a bad end, but no.
Watched yesterday, I think it's a great movie.
The graphics are definitely great, and the action scenes let you feel immersed in the scene. I would totally recommend watching it on a big screen.
The plot generates some contradictory sentiments in you, but it's wonderful.
dont waste your time watching this anime, its nothing more than visuals.
I took it as the Japanese version of "The little mermaid" with parkour and bubbles. If you think of it as a Japanese version of a Disney film it's actually quite good.
Amazing animation. Paper-thin worldbuilding. Lackluster cliché plot full of Deus Ex Machinae. I was really disappointed.
parkour scenes were very well animated, story? eeeh...
it was a fun watch i guess
[Netflix] More attractive from a visual point of view, with a perfect integration of 3D and 2D animation, it offers a post-apocalyptic version of Andersen's tale "The Little Mermaid", but without going too deep. Everything remains in a proposal that has really beautiful sequences, with a destroyed but colorful Tokyo, which shines in the competitions, but is somewhat corny in the representation of emotions.
This was actually a really cool movie to watch. The combination of crazy structures and acrobatic parkour enthusiasts is just a really cool art to watch. In addition, the music was well done. Yes it was nothing horribly new to the genre and didn't add much to the story, but it fit pretty well with the atmosphere of the film in most places.
Where the movie really fell short is its failure to blend fantasy and reality. With world building you either need to build a hyper realistic world with great attention to the tiniest details (this often leads to a lot of explaining as everything has to have a definitive cause and reaction) or you can build a world of pure fantasy and imagination.
This movie tried to make a realistically plausible that the events could occur, which is perfectly alright on its own. But then a severe lack to detail and understanding made the story seem sloppy as the world building was supposed to be more realistic. Simple things like the ability to jump on bubbles that weren't in gravity wells were left unexplained, and the simple fact that these games with children doing dangerous parkour were even allowed to exist by the government in the first place (especially after reaching livestream popularity). If set in a fantasy world these things are fine, but if you try to set a movie in the real world and treat it as pure fantasy, it leaves a bad taste.
So yes, many elements of the film were done masterfully but ultimately the lack of attention to detail made the fantasy world of bubbles that the beautiful artwork brought me into, simply pop and fall flat.
The story is basically “That's rough buddy” in a longer format. The visuals are nice though.

Great movie, not a masterpiece by any means, but the music by eve is great and the 3d visuals with 2d animations is really well blended, the story is not anything to write home about but does the job and kept me interested throughout the movie, the movie felt like a longer music video from eve and that is a good thing in my opnion
I can understand people not liking it, since as i said, its not a masterpiece, just a good movie, what i cant understand is people liking the complete trainwreck that is belle and then not liking this movie, that is better than that in literally every way possible.
