Burden 2020

Bumbles along very slowly and ends to a "and that's it". If you read the synopsis or description of this movie you will know most of. Whilst racism should be rooted out everywhere as a movie it was a bit meh.

Grace has no limits. A powerful study of one preacher and the mercy he showed to a person he had every right to hate. An inspirational story and a message to all of us: We can be forgiven, despite our past misdeeds.

If this movie wasn’t based on a true story, I could understand some of the criticism. Worth a viewing.

Garrett Hedlund is great in this as Mike Burden. Andrea Riseborough, Forest Whitaker and Tom Wilkinson all effectively portray the competing forces in Mike’s life.

This movie is about a single time good actually triumphed over the main evil that consumes the world, hate. Not sure why the overall average is only a 6. There's just to many of us that don't realize how racist we are and stuff like this cuts too close to home for some.

Based on a true story, the script is really good, well acted, and confronting one of the hardest things we are dealing with right now.

It's worth the watch, probably more so for the people that rated it low. Watch it again and ask yourself honestly if you have ever been one of those people that Griffen could have sucked into his world with very little effort. Bet you change your ratings, and maybe, open your mind and your heart a little bit more.
