Is it really a comedy movie? Hmm. I didn't laughed too much. Sometimes it's so serious to be a comedy movie.
Well if you got nothing else to do and doing the laundry - watch it. But definitly not worth watching a 2nd time.
Actually, despite the discouraging comments, this movie is a small and shiny masterpiece. The poster makes you think that the main role is played by Jennifer Garner (who did an amazing job as the trophy wife Laura Pickler), but who really takes over the movie is a little black girl adopted by Alicia Silverstone (goddess) and Ethan Emmet (Julie and Ethan Emmet) after failing several times at finding a new home. Hugh Jackman appears for, like, less than eight minutes overall. Back to Jennifer's marriage, she's the typical christian-and-rank-obsessed wife and dominates her husband until he cannot offer her the butter queen throne anymore. She believes it's everything she has in life. I would say the movie is quite predictable yet very engaging, but its end is not that conventional. Olivia Wilde always does it well playing these oversexual roles. This movie is not a comedy to me. It has a strong social message. The good wife turns out to be the ultimate cheater. The stripper girls pours her acid humor through the movie and stands against all that Laura Pickler represents. The kid is one of that wise little girls with powerful self consciousness. And in the background, a lot of butter. It's one of my favorite nosenses ever.
Saw this movie with a massive headache from a tooth pain, that combining with the most annoying , ugly and untalented actress ( Gardner ) made this a pain to watch...
