Cabin Fever 2003

Re-watching this film for second time, and still doesn't compare to other good horror films. Eli Roth's first but not his best...

I liked this! Just don't take it so seriously.

what the hell was that final scene? Good start, bad ending!

It looks like a mashup of movies Eli Roth saw. Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Evil Dead, Deliverance, Carnosaur (?!)...
Annoying teenagers, with stupid choice (why you try to outrun the dog when you are on the porch, go back in the cabin you dumb bitch).
Most of the clichés of 00s horror flix are in this, but it was released early in the decade so I'll be kind with this.
First hour is boring, last half hour sucks but at least it is entertaining.

I have to admit that the "Cabin Fever" series is somewhat of a guilty pleasure of mine. The first movie was one of the first horror films I ever saw when I was young, and it left a lasting impression on me. However, from today's perspective, the film isn't all that great, but it's still entertaining. The acting is weak throughout and the characters are all unlikeable, but at least the gore is sometimes satisfying. Furthermore, the film doesn't take itself too seriously, which I find appealing. "Cabin Fever" is no masterpiece, but at least it's an adequate B-horror movie.

“God damn it! What pancakes, you fuck?”

I've alway been curious about this movie and was hoping that it was pretty scary. Little did I know this was Eli Roth's debut and it doesn't know if it wants to be horror, funny or straight up weird. Felt like I was almost watching a Twilight Zone episode.

Having watched the latest episode of Eli Roth's History of Horror I decided to watch his debut film Cabin Fever as it is being talked about. I liked the example of practical effects they give and how they summarized the story.

Anyway, I didn't expect the see a random kid with a terrible mullet, bite people and show off some kung fu, I didn't expect that last scene with the old man and the people he cleaned their guns for. I did not expect to see a character like Winston, hunting young girls. No not at all.

However the acting is great for a horror movie, the effects sublime. Like the face reveal when they turn around Karen. The open ending was great too and the way virus worked. But they left so much in the open, it had more potential in my eyes.

But for the short run time, I didn't feel like it was a complete waste of time just that it could've been much more. So much more.

Ps. Eli Roth, please keep making these History of Horror episodes though!

One of the worst. The acting, the lines, everything is so out of place that it just turns out to PERFECTION.

The end with some old dudes and unexpected banjos = God's best work.

Try not to laugh when the deer legs are coming through the window honking the car horn, haha.
