What a great inspirational story about a family successful man who takes a job coaching the basketball team at his old high school where he owns all the records in order to make a difference/change as it is a poor minority high school that graduates only half their students. Sure the aspect of him making the team a cinderella story is entertaining and keeps the audience on the edge of their seat, but the real story that makes this a great film aside from the fluent plot development and casting, is the fact that Coach Carter emphasizes education over winning games and shows it in a dramatic way.
Watched it yesterday and it was really good.It was a great movie which had to do with something more than basketball and with great messages.Also i liked the perfomances especially Jackson's perfomance was emotional. 7.5/10
Somehow I missed watching this while growing up. Maybe it was my lack of love for basketball movies specially. Maybe it slid past me since it was not a Disney movie. Either way, I recently watched it, and today I am watching it again. It is a very good sports movie that hits on a similar note as Remember the Titans. While it’s not quite that level, it will surely be a movie I watch many more times in my life!

When I came downstairs I saw my girlfriend just started watching Coach Carter and I thought well it has been awhile since I've seen this one so I thought it was a good idea to watch it with her and I'm glad I did.
Coach Carter is such a feel good movie with so many upbeat speeches and a great performance by Samuel L. Jackson and I always forget Channing Tatum is in this one.
Anyway Coach Carter ticks off all the boxes these feel-good sports movies have to have. But that is okay. It's fun and that is the most important thing. If you haven't seen this one yet, it is worth checking out.
great movie, with great acting and a great message. There was some questionable behavior that wouldn't be in the movie anymore if it was made today, but that was the only downside for me.

This is one of the best movies I've seen that deals with education and sport.
We get attached to a team of young men who, through the role model that is coach Carter, finally hope for something better for their own lives.
The movie also tackles the issue of the equality of chances and how you have to try harder than others when you come from an unprivileged neighborhood.
Feel good movie. Definitely recommend.
