What’s a mindfuck? A movie that plays with your mind, confuses you, and leads you on. It’s not just a movie with a twist ending. Mindfucks are borderline-incoherent, dreamlike, and surreal.

Every year there are a huge number of movies that fly right under the radar of the average movie fan. movies that are great but just not that well known.

There are plenty of movie gems out there and hopefully this list will help you find some.

Things are not what they appear to be

Films lacking a big budget or a big studio release that were still enjoyed by many.

A collection of Hard Science Fiction, a sub-genre emphasizing scientific accuracy, even if highly speculative, or at the very least, featuring relatively realistic themes.

The goal of the list is to collect thought-provoking films tackling a wide gamut of themes, whether AI, space travel/exploration, extraterrestrial colonization, first contact, futuristic societies and social issues, and so on and so forth.

Some liberties will be taken, and the list may stray from these general guidelines, but not much.

Film/show contains time-travel. In any form. Be it time-loop, full on relocation in time, consciousness transfer...

Warning: You may find yourself screaming "Paradox!" That's just a risk you have to take.

I've tried to include only movies rated highly by critics and/or audiences that have a relatively low number of votes. Hopefully there are some hidden gems here for some people.
