Not original, predictable, But I enjoyed it.
How can a movie with a knock out cast and a good director like this somehow turn out so terrible and lifeless.
Now that right there is just...criminal.
I'm sorry.
This is a story of incompetent CIA agents.
Agent Quaker should be fired. After an experimental brain wave transfer, executed first time on humans, he expects patient to remember everything right after the surgery... And when he doesn't, he just decides to give up instantly. Now that is top notch management skills there...
Jerico was secured in a top-level prison with chains and everything and brought in to the surgery unconscious. But when the surgery "failed", Agent Quaker decided to sent him back in a causal police car without any precautions this time... Now that is top notch management skills v2.
Jill triggers the silent alarm and they call to verify. And the dead guy, Jerico causally talks like Bill. No one on the receiving end gets suspicious or thinks about the fact that the guy is dead.
Jill is also not that smart, after a break by entering pin code, she fails to change the pin code and Jerico revisits..
Agent Quaker is incompetent enough to put some guards to the door for Jill, in case Jerico visits again. He should get a raise, really.
And finally Jerico/Bill... Why are you not smart enough to check if Martha is dead after the explosion, like really? Of course the same goes to Martha as well...
Long story short, CIA is not the smartest agency in the world which makes it a bit painful to watch. :/
Criminal has an interesting premise, but lacks some in execution. Too bad really with all the talent that actually signed up for this one.
It's not that Criminal is all that bad, but it's actually somewhat confusing in its attempts to be clever. The acting is decent enough with the material they were given, and the action, when there is any, is actually quite good, but Criminal has one fatal flaw. It's mostly very boring.
Don't go out of your way to catch this one. Criminal will end up as a late night rerun on TV soon enough.
Not smart, but at times affecting, but gets overly trite in the end.
This was a strong 5/10. I say strong because I would never suggest anyone watch a 5/10 film in its entirety, and then only if there's a particular scene or performance from an actor you like. This however, had a good pace, and a strong 2nd Act, with some great performances from Costner, Jones, and Gadot. I'm afraid the script and the directing doesn't really allow anyone else to be important enough that they couldn't have been easily replaced by anyone, and the best dialog of the main characters is mediocre at best.
I enjoyed it because I was in the mood for an action film, and the pace delivered, and got some unexpectedly touching scenes between Costner and Gadot, who I had never actually seen in a film. And, given what she's known for, I was pleasantly surprised at her acting ability. It isn't at all realistic regarding how bullet wounds work, how or what's remotely achievable in network and device hacking, but it also isn't overly pleased with its inept stupidity like Nistopher Chrolan films, and it actually shows rather than tells the change and confliction in the lead character. Still, Oldman's character is an idiot. But we are talking about a senior field operative in the American intelligence community, so maybe it's not that unrealistic.
End the end, though, it's just more banal establishment propaganda with cliché, make believe terrorists copy-pasted to scare Carnhart-wearing middle aged and older American men into blindly supporting their mass murdering, inhumane regimes and giving them an outlet for their pent up frustration with their pathetic, unfulfilled lives of slavish labor.
Oh, the ending scene score song Drift and Fall Again by Madsonik (feat. Lola Marsh) is a lovely song and deserved a better film for it to play out the last scene.
Im John Dunbar... Ohhh Dumb Bear?? .. no not dumb bear.. Dunbar
Like It for just violent brain dumping
Watchable but probably only the once.
A surprisingly amazing, underrated movie.
Fun to see Adkins and Oldman side by side but the actual movie is a snooze fest
Absolutely a FACE/OFF - rip/off, but I probably would give 2 more stars to CRIMINAL ,at least the story was interesting enough (unlike FACE/OFF) to hold me(unlike FACE/OFF)and the cast was 5star(unlikeFACE/OFF)....
somehow comic, lovable characters, good 100mins!!! 8/10
I would've enjoyed this more if Jericho was someone with a less aggravating voice and a more likable personality. I know he's supposed to be a sociopath, but it's too much. You can't really care or feel for him. Half the time I wanted them to put a bullet in his head.
its face/off remake, but i enjoyed this film
A psychopath gets (some) of the memories of a dead intelligence agent via a surgical procedure. With them come feelings --- new to him --- of love for the dead agent's family --- as well as combat training. The psychopath completes the mission the agent started. The dead man's family begins to accept him as a continuation of the dead man. This last part is entirely unbelievable. And the camera man were dancing too much while holding the camera: perhaps they were eager to show movie-goers that they cannot dance.
I tried seeing this in theaters a bunch but it never quite happened. I've been looking forward to this being on video ever since. Now here it is and it's great. I like how Costner was a monster and as soon as he had Reynolds mind he used his skills to keep being terrible. Also this is the second movie in a year that Ryan Reynolds has swapped minds. This and Self/Less. Also good.
An ugly, messy film. Very disappointing.
Excellent movie acting was terrific worth watching but follow carefully
Not an original premise, bad first half better second, but still not a good movie. I'm pretty sure Reynolds did this before Deadpool release
I enjoyed this movie. Costner is great.
you have a real good selection, so I do not get upset if it does not stream. #ShiftvW8
I liked the premise, the starting idea was the most interesting about this movie. Otherwise I was really bored.

It's like a bad "Face/Off".
