A joy to watch from start to finish, and a glorious 50’s soundtrack to boot. It’s appeal is notably tame compared to John Waters earlier films, but the camp energy will still have you shakin’ all over.
I don’t think they could have chosen a better actor than Johnny Depp to play the lead role. His misfit companions appear to be an afterthought though, and his teddy boy rivals aren’t much of a threat, so the odds are never stacked high in this film. It just wants to have a laugh with itself and invites you to join in the same.
If you took Elvis movies and Grease and threw em in a blender at John Waters house, this would be the outcome. It's ridiculous, but a lot of fun, with some great songs.
Lol this movie is great.
Absurd fun. Hardcore version of Happy Days. I wish Traci Lords had been given more screen time.
Way too overacted and overdramatic, had to keep reminding myself that its comedy. Was disappointed by the fact that there was no real plot or build up. Like she just woke up one day and decided she loved Crybaby.
A series of underground actors from Los Angeles.

This movie is overacted, over dramatic, and all together fabulous. John Waters at his best, a brilliant concept, great music, and great actors. This is what grease could have been if they didn't care about a family friendly rating. 11/10 do recommend.
