D-Day 2019

From The Asylum come D-Day, a cheap, excruciatingly bad WWII film. The story follows a US Army Ranger unit that lands on Omaha Beach and has to secure the German artillery guns to enable the Allied troop landings. The plot is just ridiculous, as the unit single-handedly takes the cliffs of Normandy and then wanders the countryside looking for guns which are inexplicable hidden away instead in the German bunkers firing at the invading Allied ships and troops. And being Asylum, they try to pull off this off with 20 guys (bad actors all) and a shoestring budget. D-Day isn’t just a sad and pathetic piece of filmmaking, but it’s an insult to the memory of the men who fought and died that day.
