That was soo corny and ridiculous, it was hard to even have fun with it, especially that cringeworthy ending. There are a couple laughs sprinkled throughout, but not enough to justify this lazy rehash.
I'm a big fan of Will Ferrell but this movie was horrible. I barely laughed at all. The plot was totally lame.
horrible. I didn't laugh once. don't waste your time.
It's a pretty decent comedy. Nothing special, not too funny, but also not too bad. Mark Wahlberg is okey, Will Ferrell is not my favorite actor and of John Lithgow I've seen far better. However, Mel Gibson is pretty cool, he's a definite win for this movie.
The story is also quite nice, and fit's into the christmas spirit, so all in all a nice watch, though no must see and also nothing worth going to the cinema for.
Funny first two thirds of the film are ruined by last 3rd. Overly contrived and stops being funny. Too bad. Merry Christmas. 5/10
The first movie was mediocre enough but of course they had to cash in by making a Christmas-themed sequel. Horrible piece of shit movie you couldn’t pay me to watch it again.
It's no classic, but it hits the funny spot (and the heart) more than a few times. And besides, anything Will Ferrell touches becomes comedy gold, even when the script is a little rusty!
A lot better than the first one
I thought this was pretty entertaining. It's stupid humor, like the first, but it still has its moments. I liked that Mel Gibson was basically just a shit disturber.
With this and A Bad Moms Christmas coming out so close they felt very similar. Both are funny but I think I liked this one a little more.
I kinda want to see Missile Tow now.
Loved this movie amazing stupid humor which is what makes a great comedy, I am hoping for a third but I do doubt that it would ever happen.
It's a great laughing movie and great appearances by Mel Gibson and John Lithgow
It's An Honor to see Mel Gibson on Screen once again.. but this movie failed in so many areas.. however there are a bunch of laughs but the first one was 10x BETTER. still a good watch
Not as good as the first movie but is for sure a good movie. If you saw the first one you have to see this one as well.
I enjoyed this film. The ending was a bit of a letdown for me but I laughed and was not bored at all.
“the thermostat is a sacred covenant! i can’t believe we’re even talking about this! this is madness!”
Even better than the original as the casting gets even better as the story picks right up where it left off. The father's of both dad's are in town for the holidays, meanwhile the old bio dad is now the new step dad navigating the same things that the original step dad did in the first film. Again with the dark and slap stick comedy. Essentially the same film but with new characters doubling up. But I liked this one better because it was doubled up.
I never watched the first one but heard this was a good Christmas movie. Was not disappointed. Some of it is hokie and over-the-top but overall we enjoyed it and will add it to our yearly Christmas collection.
i really enjoyed this garbage, i actually got a few laughs in there
Like the first film, 'Daddy’s Home 2' is nothing special but isn't bad either. A fine watch, nothing more or less.
The plot doesn't have nearly as many laughs as it needs, with that said there are a couple of decent bits - and some weird parts, particularly one at the end. Talking of the end, it's very cringe. Mark Wahlberg (Dusty) is probably the best onscreen, Will Ferrell (Brad) does well enough too.
Mel Gibson (Kurt) and John Lithgow (Don) are two newcomers. Both have one or two moments, though nothing more - I liked Lithgow the most. I kinda, somewhat randomly, felt Kurt Russell would've made a much better Kurt - didn't even clock the name clash before having that thought either, funnily enough. Linda Cardellini, meanwhile, is alright.
It needed more, but it's nothing notably worse than its predecessor which is always a positive for a sequel.
Really picks up at the end. Was average till then but then was a bit better by the end.
John Lithgow is a national treasure. He can honestly make every train wreck watchable.
A wacky holiday family comedy, Daddy’s Home 2 delivers some good laughs. When they discover that their daughter is unhappy about having two separate Christmases, Brad and Dusty decide to have one big Christmas with the whole family (parents and step-parents); but things get complicated when their own fathers decide to visit for the holidays. Mel Gibson and John Lithgow make for great additions to the cast and prove to have good comedic chemistry with Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg. And the humor mixes satire and physical comedy fairly well; though Ferrell’s broad slapstick goes a little too far at times. Also, the plot is pretty formulaic and uses a lot of rather clichéd tropes. Yet despite a few weaknesses, Daddy’s Home 2 is an entertaining Christmas film.
funny, great cast, overall a good family movie
It's movies like this that remind me why I hate movie critics. I thought the movie was hilarious and fun to watch. Unlike a critic that would tear apart plot holes and point out poor character development, I watched the movie with low expectations and was thoroughly impressed with how witty and spontaneous it was.
I loved the way they wrapped up the story with these honest and adoring confessions.
Didn't think they could equal the first one, but it did come close. Not the best movie in the world, but not the worst either.
It's good. I really enjoyed it but the first part was way better.
I laughed through the entire thing. Totally recommend.
very funny moments in it. Mel made it even better lol, loved it.
And his name is John Cena! There you go... my pleasure.

I never saw the first movie and, as with most silly comedies, it wasn't necessary in seeing this one. I'm also not a fan of Will Farrell (but love the rest of the stars). I really enjoyed the movie and loved the stupid humor and good old fashioned prat falls. This is definitely a good, light hearted comedy.
