Pretty solid, anchored by wonderful performances by both O'Hara and Ball. The story and the music here are mostly so-so, but there's a passion and a tenderness to the lead performances that I found really endearing. The movie has some interesting commentary on the male gaze (and O'Hara's final speech is a bit of a shocker, given the time) which elevates the material beyond expectations.
