I don't know why but I loved this film so much. It's so emotional. We are not seeing action scenes only.
Not great but not terrible either. Better than the Netflix version anyway.
Total rubbish. Better watch the Netflix series instead.
Some-what fun but goofy. I always enjoyed it. The Director’s Cut is superior though. Since there’s more scenes of Matt actually defending someone in court.
The kick-ass show Netflix made a huge mistake canceling just to piss off Disney. Is of course far superior than this movie.
i rather not have had Ben Affleck playing the role of Daredevil he didnt look right i did however like Colin Farrell playing Bulleye and Wilson Fisk played by the late Michael Clarke Duncan they was very believable. I did like Jennifer Garner playing Elecktra she was awesome
Whatever it just follows marvel unconventional plot!!
I love ELEKTRA thats all i know for sure!!
First time watching this now (director's cut, never seen the original.) Not as bad as the things I've read and heard about it when you focus on lawyers Matt Murdock and his best friend Foggy, their banter, court scenes, investigating and solving crimes, visualizing how Matt "sees". Those parts were done very well and were quite entertaining. Everything else is really, really, really bad. Worst villains in any superhero movie ever. And I'm not sure if this was supposed to be an origin story or not, but we didn't get to see how Daredevil became the vigilante/superhero and known in his city. So in total the movie kind of seemed pointless.
Don't lose your time watching this
Film 160 (Goal: 300) of 2024:
Look, I know is not good. From the rushed storytelling (I still need to see the more respected Director's Cut), to the dated Soundtrack (Evanescence, anyone), to the questionable action scenes (the Playground battle, and the Church organ fight standout - and not in a good way). But I've always loved the character of Daredevil and this film has always been a guilty pleasure of mine. I don't know why I keep coming back to it - my rating should reflect that. I think I just saw it at a pivotal time in my life / my film development. Plus I really liked Evanescence at the time.
First time watching since I don't like Affleck or Garner. But it is as bad as people say. If not slightly worse. The only good, thing is some of the music.
"You're good, baby. I'll give you that. But me? I'm magic."
I watched the Director's Cut since I was told it's much better. While it does have a more consistent tone, it is still a cheeseball movie. Glad Netflix made a series later.
This was terrible. Script, editing, acting. The only thing that was decent was Kingpin. I’d rather stab my eyes with Elektra’s twin sais than watch this again.
While it flopped and holds it's place as a bad superhero flick it's not as bad as everyone makes out. One to watch with some friends for a laugh if you're of the generation that was a young adult in the 2000's
The film IS cheese, The CGI is ok for it's time, the writing isn't awful but very over done
It's aged terribly but does well in paces. Colin Farrell is great as bullseye and Michael Clark Duncan is brilliant as Fisk.
Soundtrack is straight up 2000's Emo and some of the films scenes play like a music video (a bad one)
Time to give the Devil his due. Daredevil brings Marvel’s comic to life in a fun and exciting action film. The story follows blind lawyer Matt Murdock who prowls the streets of Hell’s Kitchen at night as the masked vigilante Daredevil, fighting to rid the streets of New York from the influences of the mysterious crime boss known as Kingpin. Ben Affleck, Jennifer Garner, Colin Farrell, and Michael Clarke Duncan led the cast, make for a good ensemble, and give strong performances; especial Farrell, whose charisma nearly steals the film. Also, the tone has a nice balance of comedic and dramatic elements; using bits of humor to release tension. Unfortunately though, the CGI is underwhelming and ends up hurting the action scenes. However, the music is exceptionally well used and is able to add a lot of energy and momentum to the film. Immensely entertaining, Daredevil is a thrilling adventure.
The directors cut is better. Though it is the playground fight that needed to be cut out, not the sex scene. The film also could have used Matt trained by Stick. Instead of him training himself to fight as a kid.
Though before all the hate got to me, I enjoyed this movie a lot. The Netflix show is far superior though and Netflix sucks for canceling it just to take a shot at Disney.
Ben Affleck I really don’t think did a laughable awful job like he is treated. Matt Damon really did him no favor by turning down the role and suggesting Affleck. Especially since Damon didn’t like the script or the director choice but suggested Affleck anyway.
Personally, I think Affleck did not get the credit he desired for this movie. While it may not match up to today's superhero movies, I think he did a decent job. Although, I wasn't "head over heels" for Jennifer Garner as Electra. I was not feeling he character at all. They just wanted an actress with a hot bod, obviously performing as a superhero wasn't working for her. The amateurism was quite obvious!
After watching the director's cut I thought this was much better than it's reputation. It is very silly and feels so 2000s. There was some weird editing and too many crash zooms. Ben Affleck is miscast but Colin Farrell is having a lot of fun. Michael Clarke Duncan is great.
Watched A long time ago
A gritty 2000's superhero film, it falls on a lot of cliches, but is perfectly watchable, enjoyable, but predictable.
Daredevil child well, most well at first, Elektra well, Karen Page bad, Bullseye very bad, regulate Kingping, the extended version improves
Another very boring comic adaptation! Too fucking illogical so I couldn't stand watching the whole movie.
Shame, shame, shame!

Having not seen the original, I just watched the director's cut. I expected to snooze through it, but I was pleasantly surprised and overly confused at how much flak this gets. This film was quite decent and certainly no worse than many other comic book adaptations.
