Day of the Wacko 2002

Very introspective drama comedy about a day in the life of an extremely tormented man. It's surreal, but not in an up its own arse kind of way, the surrealism serves to outline the the absurdity of this person's perception of his world. It's a masterful character piece, with not too much empathy for the main character imposed on the viewer. You might identify yourself with him or you might not, but that shouldn't ruin your viewing pleasure.

At first you might think it's just a "haha Polish man gets angry and swears a lot" type of movie, but it shouldn't take long for it to click that all the things that happen to Miauczyński are things the average person - me and you included - may have to deal with as well. From being guilt-tripped about things we have no control over, through all the annoying types of people we encounter in life, to regretting the wasted opportunities in life. It's kind of a social commentary shown through an admittedly somewhat absurd purview of a man who is far from perfect himself.

Mom bought brioches.
Brioches?
Brioches? For the supper?
You've probably lost your mind.
My ass!
You lost it a long time ago! You've always suffered from the womb rabies.
Go buy yourself a pin, and keep sitting on it. Maybe you'll get calmer.
Pig.
Twat!
I'm getting married.
With dog.
With shit.
