Hot DAMN now that was a thriller! I had never heard of this until yesterday and I can't believe it because it is so awesome. Only thing keeping this from a 10 is the score. When a movie involves things or people banging on doors and people breathing heavy, maybe don't feature a score with what is very clearly a guy breathing heavy rhythmically and pounding on wood? About 3 times I was like, wait is that a character or the score? Terrible score, great movie.
Well made. Some good moments of tension. The story is nothing special but the setting makes it interesting. Not much replay value once you've watched it. Very illogical at times but I managed to ignore it before it ruined the movie. The very end is completely ridiculous though.
Worth a watch. Thriller with more action than twists.
I normally rank 'em as "meh," but I'm "fair" thanks to watching Keith's current? wife swim twice & my affliction w/ aquaphilia.

This is how to make a thriller. Zane's masterful performance balances well with a very young Kidman. My only criticism is the age difference between Neill and Kidman which is distracting...but I can't imagine this film with anyone else in those roles. Truly a great loud film comes from this Dead Calm.
