This movie balances the interesting subject matter (modern day racism) and diverse character development really well imo I didn't expect to like it as much as I did I would recommend it to people
I think you need to have been a one time American university student to understand this film. Undeniably boring, so I switched it off after half an hour. 1/10.
Angry lecture disguised as comedy? Well-aimed social satire? Or both? You decide!
Likeable characters and a pretty witty script, but feels somewhat shallow and lacking in plot and character motivation .

What an interesting and sometimes uncomfortable movie to watch. In the genre section of this film, its listed as a comedy and drama but I believe that it's much more, in fact I would go as far as to say it's a case study and time capsule of the early 21st century of racial dynamics within a college setting from a black perspective. With a movie such as this, there are multiple perspectives that you can watch this from and gain insight. If you are watching this from a black perspective and you are from the millennial generation that went to college you will get the most from this film, from the many references of modern pop black culture to the ever persistent, how should I tip question, you will instantly relate to premise of the movie, because 9 times out of 10 one of the situations in the movie has happen to you. If you are watching this movie from a white perspective and you are from the millennial generation AND where you went to high school was predominantly white you will realize a couple of things. 1st, black culture is ever changing. 2nd, you see that there are subtle differences between your fellow black millennials that you might not have realized or even cared to see. Overall, this film is fascinating in many unique ways and I wouldn't be surprised if it's not preserved in the National Film Registry.
