Special comedy with great plot and and way ahead of ordinary movies from this kind..Don't watch the american version if you havent seen this because it's 100 times better.
Like this movie.... A lot of small punchlines.
The story lives from the simplicity of the characters. If you don't see the fun factor in trash TV, you won't be able to train your laugh muscles here. Unfortunately, the good cast and the ambience don't change that. The homophobic tenor, which runs through the whole film, gives it the rest. Some like that...
The good news is that this original version of the film is supposed to be better than the American version. The bad news is that this film is really, really bad. It kind of reminded me of an American sitcom without the laugh track that tells the audience that there is comedy going on. The movie is essentially made up of two running gags and the entire plot centers around these two gags. Hey look, the guy took a pill and is acting silly in this scene. And the next scene. And so on. So much of this movie was just a series of hacky comedy bits and that's really a sign of poor writing. I can't imagine someone saw this film and said "we need to remake this for the American audience" (then again, people since this is very similar to the awful situation comedies on American tv that maybe it shouldn't be surprising). The only thing really died at this funeral is comedy.
