I dont know why some people gave so much hating on this..This movie was so real and refresing.Jake one of the best actors in film history lucky to enjoy his perfomances!

7.5, I like the tone this movie sets, nothing matters fuck everything vibes, but more in a linear^ than depressing way, it feels „grey“, loved the dancing part; destroying that beautiful apartment hurt even tho I’d love to smash things but not when they’re THAT beautiful and expensive (but I get the point, its a good one) also very nice and satisfying ending, (^cant find a better word for it, also I love depressing but this is a little bit different)

Pretty good, at least for me, Gyllenhaal was great and that's actually what makes the movie, and it's not like the story is really really good but do the job, it's somehow touching and funny at times. I really liked it. By the way, the kid was really good too, I like his scenes with Gyllenhaal very much.

Film follows Davis a man who is coping with the loss of his wife through "Demolition".
Yet another flawless performance by Jake, the concept was pretty simple but the character interactions however felt short and dint meet upto my expectations, especially the interaction between Davis and Phil didnt reach the expected emotional depth as it should have. Moreover, all the other character were underdeveloped and I dint care about them at all. Beyond its flaws Demolition can be a worthwhile experience for the ones who seek for non-conventional story-telling.

I've seen movies about broken people done better and I have seen them done worse. This movie did have some good moments.... I just didn't love it.

Demolition is a movie that is hard to describe what it's about without breaking down the whole movie I think in the end it's about a man finding himself during a time of confusion and grief. Jake Gyllenhaal gives an amazing performance and really embodies his charcter Judah Lewis is also great this movie definitely surprised me and really hit me in the feels great movie really recommended.
The best of the movie by far is the performance of the kid, Judah Lewis, but Jake Gyllenhaal doesn't move from his comfort zone by continuing to performe as always the only role he seems to be capable of pulling off which is that of an introvert and depressing weirdo with an obsession with destruction. The movie tone gets easily impregnated from his "style" of acting and it becomes really fast a Depressing Film.
If you are feeling down, do yourself a favor and don't watch the movie... If you are feeling up to it, you can try watching it, but make sure you arrange with a couple of friends to go out afterwards for a drink or two, so you can pull yourself back to reality. I don't deny life can be shitty sometimes but never as much as he, with much effort, tries to make us believe in his performances, besides friends are for those shitty moments.
Certainly broke my heart, this was an engaging human drama.
