Worth a watch, it’s a movie where not a lot of dialogue is involved but it’s not needed because it keeps you on your toes
I am not sure what's dumber, the movie, or it's title.
Watched this because of Kelsey because of reasons. Not much to the move. Total usual Netflix movie that you would expect. Lady gets kidnapped, fights back, almost gets saved a few times, and then she is the one that ends up killing her kidnapper.
You guess the next move and at times, what people do seems stupid.
Don't Move (2024) - :heart:x6
A smart and extremely courageous young woman. And an A$$hole that got what he deserved.
Overall though, it's a fairly forgettable movie. It has a couple of interesting moments but not much more than that - there's no real tension here.
How I rate:
1-3  = seriously! don't waste your time
4-6  = you may or may not enjoy this
7-8  = I expect you will like this too
9-10  = movies and TV shows I really love!
Woulda been a 10 if he had gotten away with it
I think the film is a slightly above average production. One of the points I get stuck with is, why do they always make the cops look naïve in such movies or TV series? The script is very classic, there are many films of this genre. It has cons, but it's a gripping production. I'd say give it a shot.
Everyone in this movie is as dumb as a rock, and not even a cool rare one.
A decent exercise in tension where the protagonist literally can’t move. Can’t say it fully succeeds at feature length but still worth a watch.
Good story... excellent action... recommended
The story was a little thin, they tried to create character backgrounds to help us connect but I feel it fell a bit short. The strength of the movie is in the suspense and atmosphere, but they weren't able to sustain that by the third act which is a shame. Strong performance specially from Finn Wittrock, I think he really carried this movie, I do wish his character had more nuance to him but he did great for the material he was tasked to work with.
Simple and very generic, it could still be much more efficient in its structure and make better use of the many clichés, but everything here is very uneven. The movie starts off at an intense, frenetic pace, creating an atmosphere of tension, but it can't sustain itself, it becomes too repetitive and extremely predictable. The performances don't help much either, they are average, insufficient, delivering weak dialog and unconvincing motivations.
Was ok, but the last act felt weak in contrast to the rest of the movie. With a better closing, it would have score higher
wow, this guy... is very motivated!
Straight to Netflix thriller with a great concept! Sign me up. And to that point, it's surprisingly not that tense and just thrives by the concept. I was engaged and just wanted to know how the story unfold, even if I felt it could have easily been much better!
Rating: 3/5 - 75% - Worth Watching
When she set the timer at 20 minutes, I was hoping it was one of those ’in real time’ movies.
Like America, so much better with a woman in charge.
What started off as one more Sally Mae being tortured up until the third act took a turn for the better when it gave the victim some agency and room to rumble.
There's nothing revolutionary here but it avoids all the traps it set for itself.
Better than expected. Kept me on edge but it's an overal easy to follow movie with a fairly basic plot. Solid watch though.
Well, I liked it. Is it the best Netflix movie? No. Will it win an Oscar? Probably not. But did it entertain me? Yes. It's one of those movies that you can watch if you don't know what else and be entertained. I liked the performances and there was enough suspense. That's it.
Will itch that suspense loving bone for sure. Really liked this one for what it was. Nothing too deep but definitely exciting. I'd recommend it to anyone who likes a good horror.
This guy is sloppy and impulsive, worst predator ever.
sorry i unapologetically love everything finn does so i liked it. average, like a lot of stuff that ends up on netflix, but not bad. i do think that people who watch movies like this and have negative takeaways about people being stupid and protagonists surviving too much really, really need to watch shows like "i survived". humans are in fact really dumb (especially when it involves the age-old dilemma: take a woman at face value or hear what the man has to say) and can also survive absolutely insane circumstances. there are so many wild things people have overcome and at the bare minimum we as a species are able to hold our breath underwater longer than above water specifically as a survival mechanism, so i personally have no problem believing that someone who JUST realized she didn't actually want to kill herself could survive this ordeal, including nearly drowning.
anyway keep typecasting finn wittrock thanks bye
Possibly one of the most predictable and frustrating movies I’ve watched. It is so cliche in every sense.
All filler, no thriller. Could have been wrapped up in half an hour and still have been the same story.
“Don’t Move” presents itself as a psychological thriller that, despite some flaws, manages to hold its own by sticking to the basics of the genre, delivering moments of tension that, while predictable, keep the audience engaged. Directed by Brian Netto and Adam Schindler, the film tells the story of Iris (Kelsey Asbille), a woman shaken by the recent loss of her child, who, in a moment of despair, is prevented from taking her own life by Richard (Finn Wittrock), a man who soon reveals himself to be a ruthless kidnapper. The premise is promising, and there are some well-executed suspenseful moments, but the script and character development fall short of fully exploring the psychological potential of the plot, leaving the experience a bit underwhelming.
Iris is sketched out as a woman devastated by grief, whose path changes after meeting Richard. Though Iris’s grief and fragility are presented in a conventional way, Asbille manages, in some scenes, to capture the emotional complexity of a woman who’s lost nearly everything, bringing a certain emotional intensity that makes the audience care about her. However, the script doesn’t push beyond the stereotype and seems more interested in using her as a tool to build suspense rather than really exploring her inner process of grief and healing. Even so, the nuances Asbille brings to the character, though limited, add realism to the story, helping maintain interest.
Richard is the villain of the narrative, and although he’s not particularly complex, his presence helps create a palpable atmosphere of threat. Wittrock takes a subtle approach, blending charm with malice, resulting in an antagonist who, while not deep, works well within the thriller’s framework. Richard’s motives are only superficially explored, but his unpredictability and the constant danger he poses somewhat make up for the lack of character development. This approach keeps the film tense, though it doesn’t provide a truly satisfying psychological arc.
When it comes to direction and atmosphere, “Don’t Move” is set in an environment that often brings a sense of claustrophobia and impending danger, aided by dark, quiet cinematography. The pacing isn’t always smooth, with some scenes feeling rushed while others drag, but the overall sense of tension is effective, keeping the audience on edge most of the time. The soundtrack, despite a few over-the-top choices, helps heighten the suspense. Though it doesn’t reach the technical level of some other thrillers, the visual elements, especially in the chase and confrontation scenes, enhance the sense of threat the script is working to build.
The relationship between Iris and Richard is one of the central points of the plot, and although it lacks deeper exploration, the power dynamics and vulnerability between the two create some intriguing moments. The interactions between victim and kidnapper evolve into an interesting dynamic, where Iris’s fight to survive and her wavering between despair and resilience add a layer of emotional complexity to the film. A more developed approach could have turned their relationship into a richer psychological game, but even so, the tension between them carries a good part of the suspense.
In summary, “Don’t Move” is a thriller that fulfills its purpose modestly. While it doesn’t bring innovations to the genre or deliver deeper insights into its characters and themes, the film still manages to provide a decent suspense experience, with solid performances and a tense atmosphere that, at many points, is effective. The production may not surprise or make a lasting impact, but it works as entertainment, keeping the audience focused on the unfolding events, resulting in an experience that, while not memorable, is satisfying within its limitations.
A movie ruined by its deus ex machina ending.
I actually thought the movie did really well in keeping up the suspense and was pleasantly surprised with how much I liked the movie, I assumed I would hate it.
Annoying little pet peeve complaint; The first 40 minutes I was like "yes, finally people acting realistically!!!" then the old guy in the cabin decided to cancel his 911 call for no reason other than the script-writers wanting to create more tension. Sigh. So close. He found a paralyzed woman on the riverbed and thought "hey well let's see what he has to say first..." WHAT? It quickly went more realistic again... The same thing happens when they meet the cop. He seems super rational and realistic, but then he suddenly becomes a horror cliche at the last second...
It's a good movie, well made and well acted. But it's not something new, I've seen it done before. Also, I was hoping for more from the finale as it was only headed one way and it stayed on course. By far not a bad film but predictable and for that, it's something you could watch in the background of doing other things.
Predictable. Had to fast forward but good quality.
Not too bad.It wasn't anything fantastic but it killed a couple of hours and wasn't boring. The 2 leads did a great job with the limited material they were given.
I enjoyed this movie. A good tense thriller from the start to the finish . :thumbsup_tone1: Straight forward and simple. I think it's well worth a watch :thumbsup_tone1:
This movie has a lot of problems, but considering it's on Netflix and it's 2024 it is not a bad movie. Is it a MUST WATCH? If you miss this movie it is not the of the world.
This was such a fun watch. Love a survival film like this where you question what you would do if you were in the situation with a short amount of time.
There was suspense that kept it exciting. Finn Wittrock plays such a good creepy character, but sis there ain’t no way he would’ve sat in the car and been like oh I know where she is lol
Extra star for the stunning wildlife scenery

What a miserable film. Ugh!
Here we have a thriller that is so predictable that it’s ridiculous, mediocre story, and Finn Wittrock’s portrayal is oddly constructed.
What are the chances that Iris, Kelsey Asbille, out of nowhere survives being paralyzed to not paralyzed in a sure drowning accident?!
Completely bland from start to finish. 1/10 rating.
