A sad Hollywood story. Imagine pouring your heart and soul into making and promoting something, just for it to be shitcanned by one phone call about money. The stories of the actors and director are maps to getting over grief.

The first 40 minutes contain a whole lot of "It never occured to me what was really happening" - a fair bit of story, but this attempt to build suspense is silly in a documentary like this.

The story of the unreleased 1994 Fantastic Four movie has always fascinated me - the cast and crew thinking they were making a theatrical release, yet studio executives knew it was never meant it be released for reasons too complicated for my simple mind to relay here - a sad story for all involved and for superhero fans. This is a must see for anybody interested in the story of the film and the superhero genre itself.

It is possible to see the 1994 film unofficially on DVD and in very poor quality on YouTube, but I hope the film is granted an official release sometime. I've seen the film on YouTube and its not great but standard for a Roger Corman production. And hey, it is isn't much worse than the 2005 and 2015 releases.
