Dracula 2000 2000

Wes Craven presents a bold and provocative interpretation of Bram Stoker’s classic tale in Dracula 2000. In this re-envisioning, Dracula awakes from his tomb to seek out the daughter of Van Helsing after having been imprisoned by him for over a hundred years. The cast is pretty strong, and includes Jonny Lee Miller, Gerard Butler, Jennifer Esposito, and Christopher Plummer. The writing is also fairly good, and puts a fascinating new spin on the Dracula legend. However, the directing is weak and isn’t able to fully realize the vision of the script. Yet despite its problems, Dracula 2000 is an entertaining film with an intriguing story.

After seeing all the Disturbed albums in the Virgin shop I just knew there was going to be a Linkin Park song somewhere (One Step Closer plays during the credits). This movie is so 2000 haha.

It's not too bad but it's not great either.

There are some surprisingly well known names in this movie, not least of all the massive Virgin music promo that it seems to be (although full points for symbolism). So late 90s it hurts in places, it lives up to the tagline of it being set fully in the time it was made. Uses a lot of the cliches of modern vampire fiction, I'm looking at you New Orleans. Pieces of this movie are fantastic and the climax is pretty decent but the overall impression is that this movie is terrible.

Not good, not bad. Like other commenters, I got a kick out of the Virgin records shop. Product placement or not, it was fun to see. A very year 2000 movie, which is far from a bad thing.

Well this has aged terribly and we have so moved on from this piss poor story of Drac. This was bad it was actually watchable and that is not a good thing as something has to be that shit to start going the other way.
The twist ending was slightly interesting on who he was but still doesn't change how bad the movie and the acting is.
The best part for me and kept me watching was
Jeri/7of9
and Jen
I love these 2 ladies so much and I've had a crush on them for decades.

I watched this when I was about fifteen, so what I remember might be really off. From what I can recall, it felt like this movie really didn't know what to do with itself: It was like the plot, characterisation, etc. were all just thrown together for the sake of it. There was no real arc, no sense of "this is where, how, why we want to end it". Like a seventh grade student who has write their first essay on something they've never even heard of before, the elements of the movie weren't bad per se, but in context, I wondered if there was any reason they even made the movie. Obviously, it's possible that there was some really artsy hidden meaning that I just didn't get because I was fifteen years old, but I'm not entirely sure that's really the case.
